Good Morning Sunshines…

…And a Happy New Year!

First order of the new year…

Coffee.

Nothing like starting off a new year/new day with a cuppa Joe…

Lately, we love our Keurig…even though we need to give it a good vinegar cleaning

often.

no….just broadcasting my likes…no affiliation with Keurig…donut shop coffee…my fave…or Dean and Deluca. love that mug. Do you do that? Need a specific mug for specific days?

Just happen to love ‘em all on this new day of a New Year….

sooo. I share.

And in a complete baring of the soul this New Years

Here is our pantry…in all of it’s unkempt glory.

Uh, yeah...did I just open up our closets and take pix? Yep.

But I love this...Made several years ago from an inefficient way too deep pantry closet.

We added plugs lots... a drawer bank for cans and boxes and a small counter…now it's a coffee/microwave bar…

When we close the door, ~ta daaa~ it is all gone.

~~~
I think that may be my theme for this new year…
'Close the door…and Ta daaaa.'
yep. I like it.
Happy New Day of A New Decade!!
Buenaventura and Paloma do fall…
Sadly…
This is fall in our casa.
all of it.
...and yeah I name my paintings...don't you?
Yep…
Happy fall…from Florida.
sigh
I’ve been told….
So…
My son tells me that most people don’t have a
hand carved man
Holding some wayward necklaces
In their bathroom.
Dayum.
Is this true??
talk to me people...
Post Title → I’ve been told….
So…I have some art
maybe too much art.
but…can one have too much art?
and am trying to place it in the newly painted and happy Living room
It’s just that I don’t know what to use…and not to use
So... up went the gallery shelves
just easier for me than a gallery wall…cause it will change. a lot.
Then I found this great brass wall light at
Habitat Homestore
Missing a little knob
So I got online to Neeson…the manf.
and looked this baby up…in hopes of finding a knob
what I did find is that it sells for $900 clams!
It’s all brass…heavy.
I paid 10. Say it with me
Yippppeeee!
This door/art will find a new home in the room maybe on the wall…who knows
It was done by the daughter of a friend
“adore” series.
and it does not look grubby in real life…trust.
I also have a HUGE B&W/sepia horse photo that is being framed
it will go over the little desk and replace what is currently there
I think.
The other side of the room is looking like a gallery
with the work of Ginny Piech Street …quite luminous!
Embrace art….better yet
hang it...give it a real home!
Now back to the hundreds I have laying around waiting for a home.
Finishing the Livingroom/foyer today. Meanwhile…
A certain someone
Has decided that he is indeed from the zebra tribe
and maybe the king
of said tribe
I cannot put this rug down anywhere…
without him claiming it.
You can see I’m moving at such a stellar pace…I have not done a thing
with the door/window paint or not paint issue.
and…yes… that would be a drop cloth on the desk…still a work in progress. oy.
I’m finishing it all today. More pic’s to come.
promise. { ish.}
Happy Father’s Day to my hus… a true king of men…
and all Dad’s. You rock.
and…could’ja move the Piano for me? someone???
pretty please cherry on top?
Would you…
My paint program skills are amazing...no?
Ok…talk about airing dirty laundry. ewwwww.
THIS is the not so happy state of my casa
this moment.
I know some of you prefer to see perfectly dolled up after shots…and raunchy before’s.
But this post is all about the
filthy and gritty real life in-betweens.
besides…
I need your help.
So…Would you paint the door black/brown?
like I just did…
would you keep going…and paint the windows and door molding next to the door the same color?
like I kinda started doing…then stopped…then took a picture. lovely.
Lovin' the mess?
thought so.
another view…
oh joy. This is so real it is sad.
But back to the question.
?
1. Paint it all back white.
2. Leave the door dark and windows and frame white.
3. Both door and windows dark.
4. Clean the dayum house already. Geez.
thanks.
humble thanks
linen chair…
Done.
Enuf.
Next: Painting Living room
Who wants to watch the paint dry?
Hello…tap tap tap…this thing on?
Post Title → linen chair…
So…Do you all…
Ever save images…and title them something like…
Living room inspiration…with no other credits?
Is it just me?
SO…as I wait for my nailheads and wax to come…to finish two other projects...
I peruse a bunch of LR inspiration pics
and I’m not sure what I loved
something in each of them, undoubtedly.
I recently found some Benjamin Moore Aura paint in Marscapone
yum...i am sooo distarcted by the name of paint...you?
that I plan to paint our LR and maybe foyer with...
just splotched it on...like?
Maybe that is why I saved this image...
Aha… no. This one is for the shelves…painted white. I plan on that.
watch me experiment…more splotching...
This one above is for the art…I am sure...We have an abundance of mismatched art
that I love in all of it's mismatched glory….that I want up. This one has been leaning behind the couch
tsk tsk
I think this one above was for the big art. maybe.
I’m getting confrused, scooby.
Do you all do this?
Do you all have any suggestions?
Do you all know whose images these are?…cause I would love to note them. Really.
My friend Sal talked me into buying white tulips…
Recently our town had a Garden Fest in a park near the beach
Tons of tropical flora
always a great place to find
a rare bromeliad…or bamboo…or banana
But... I came home with some different sort of loot
A French baguette mold
you know…where the dough was once left to rise.
but it is made in Mexico. Whatever.
you can see I have not worked on the table yet…priorities people.
Spring has sprung.
‘cause I said so, that’s how.
I also found a carved wood piggy bowl
wait a minute…I found him at our local Marshalls.But he is hand carved and I oiled him with our butcher block oil.
he loved it.
He is currently tending the guac ingredients
Child #4 says:
"Ewwww...who wants to eat anything out of a pig?"
Um...Me.
Brought home two of the glass fishing floats from the fest…
why? Dunno. Maybe they’ll go outside in the garden
see the tulips Sal?
But my fave is the old German educational poster...loved it’s age…
Although I’m pretty sure I don’t know what a laubmoose is.
It hasn’t found a forever home yet...
so is borrowing some space in the messy family room
Garden fest and nary a garden flower.
s’ok…Sal’s hooked me up!
Have a beautiful day of chocolates and white tulips!
House snippets…
I dunno…no real rhyme or reason…stuff on my computer
But I found…as I was zooming through our house pictures…
that we have a most certain red and turquoise
thing going on in this casa….
.
Snuck this one in…Inspiration pic from a local shop…decorative arts
love the painting!
So…try it…
find the colors you gravitate to
by looking through pics of your house…
fast.
Now...I don't mean...drop everything and do it now... I mean whip through them
quickly...to get only a color sense.
far be it for me to tell you......nevermind
Carry on.
